Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. acquired Goodman Family of Builders, a Top 10 Dallas/Fort Worth homebuilder in 1999, where Mr. Ray was a partner and President of the Company.  He has also served as President of the Collin County Homebuilders Association, and as a board member of both the Dallas and Texas Homebuilders Associations. 

Mr. Ray is active in community affairs, serving on several boards and commissions in past years.  He is currently serving as chairman for the University of North Texas.

Mr. Ray was awarded the Hugh Prather Award by the Dallas Home Builders Association for "the builder contributing the most to the betterment of the Dallas metroplex."
